The Canadian Navy operates several specialized pieces of equipment harbour and barges to service the fleet. This refuelling and electrical back up power vessel project required removal of old diesel power generator sets and re installation of modern power generator sets and electrical panels. Equipment removal on ships require selective removal or avoidance of obstructions. Frequently, removal access means not only disconnecting systems, but cutting access ports to allow equipment passage and complex rigging and lifting procedures. As shown, obstructions can be complicated.
